Goals
Informed by Disability Studies and the “concept” of Universal Design
- Create inclusive physical, information, curricular, and social environments by engaging and supporting the campus community in progressive system change.
- Improve the recruitment, transition, retention and graduation of disabled students
- Increase the hiring and retention of disabled employees
- Develop strategies and partnerships that will enhance the status of adaptive athletics
- Ensure the effective delivery of accommodations with a minimum of extra effort required by the disabled consumer
- Collaborate with the College of Education on the creation of a center for disability-related research, education, practice and service
- Provide opportunities for professional development, personal growth, & staff interaction
