International Paralympic Games

In its history, UA Adaptive Athletics Program has sent 27 athletes and alumni to the Paralympic Games. With its first competition in Rome, Italy in 1960, the Paralympic Games provide elite competition for the world's best, most accomplished disabled athletes and athletes with impairment.

While this program has been well represented over the years at the Games, 2013 saw the highest presence of UA athletes:

  • Zach Abbott, UA Junior, 100 and 200 meters
  • Bryan Barten, UA alumnus and head coach of the UA wheelchair tennis and rugby teams, Wheelchair Tennis
  • Jordan Bird, UA Junior, 400 and 800 meters
  • Tanner Gers, UA Junior, Sprint and Triple jump
  • Adam Kellerman, UA Sophomore, Wheelchair Tennis representing Australia
  • Jen Poist, UA Pharmacy Student, Women's Wheelchair Basketball
  • Noah Yablong, 2012 UA Alumnus, Wheelchair Tennis
