For DRC Staff.... Backing up your Files

Why would you want to "Force Backup" your files?
There may be times, especially for those of you using laptops, where you want to make sure that you have a very recent backup before you leave the office for an extended period of time. Or maybe you have made a lot of updates to several files and want to make sure there is a backup..... Remember, the scheduled / automatic backup only happens twice a week.

Steps to "Force Backup" your files

Open “Scheduled Tasks” (Windows Task Scheduler”):

Desktop Icons

In this window, right click on the file with "Backup" in the Title and select "Run":

Force Backup

OR

You can click on the "Backup.bat" (or your name.bat) file on your desktop -- this will also cause an immediate backup to take place.

NOTE: The Backup.txt file will identify the files that were copied up to the server.
** Check this to verify that your files were copied over.

After the initial backup, only files that have been updated / created will be copied up to the server. This will decrease the amount of time required to backup your files and makes the process very quick.
