When academic requirements present barriers to students with disabilities, reasonable accommodations may be necessary. Accommodations are determined on an individual basis and should not reduce academic standards.
- Accessible Transportation
Disability Resources is available to assist departments and individuals arrange for wheelchair accessible vehicles.
- Attendance Requirements
If students believe an attendance policy may be a barrier for disability-related reasons, they can request an accommodation.
- Document Conversion
Assure all your students have access to course materials in a format that is accessible with assistive technologies and mobile devices
- Exam Accommodations
If exams are designed in a way that presents a barrier, exam accommodations may be requested.
If you have a deaf or hard of hearing student enrolled in your course, Disability Resources may schedule a Sign Language Interpreter or Communication Access Real-Time (CART) writer to facilitate communication in your class
Having access to quality notes is an integral part of learning. If writing notes in class is a barrier, a note-taking accommodation may be requested.
