Saguaro Spirit...

Crested Saguaro Cactus© 2012, Stuart Glogoff

Saguaro Spirit is the new ezine herein presented, which, like the Crested Saguaro shown on this page, stands guard over the desert of human disregard, providing fruit for those willing to do the work, and thorns for those who try to push it down. Those of us labeled disabled by society may reach this state by genetics, accident or environmental disturbances, much like a Crested Saguaro. We have been called ugly, monstrous and disturbed. So has the Crested Saguaro. Unlike a Crested Saguaro however, disabled humans are rarely described as beautiful, fascinating, or quirky. Regardless, we are here, whether you are wise enough to appreciate us or not. This magazine gives you an opportunity to see beyond labels to the humanity we all share.
Using literary and artistic forms we are presenting to you our hearts and souls.

Attention artists/art enthusiasts!

Saguaro Spirit would like to recruit you to participate in our logo drawing competition. The logo will be presented throughout the magazine and may be used for promotional purposes. All entries should be submitted to saguarosubmissions@gmail.com. Be sure to include your name somewhere (either on the page with your submission or in the upload title. Good Luck!
