Together with the Aurora Foundation for Southern Arizona, Sonoran University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, and Primavera Foundation, we welcome Dr. John McKnight for "Buidling a Village That Can Raise its Children."
Dr. McKnight is internationally recognized for his critique of how our societal systems and organizations pathologize "needs" and ignore capacities. This not only diminishes those supposedly being helped, but their communities as well. By shifting the paradigm from needs-based to asset-based, communities could maximize their human resources and raise its children with moral strength and the capacity to be competent, compassionate, and caring adults.
