Support Adaptive Athletics
Adaptive Athletics actively recruits top athletes from around the U.S. and abroad. To recruit and retain our most promising student athletes, we offer a range of scholarships. Some of our scholarships come directly from fundraised dollars.
Over the past 42 years, we have helped hundreds of disabled individuals graduate with a college degree and reach the highest level of athletic performance - competing in the Paralympics - because we were able to provide athletes with the equipment, facilities and resources necessary to succeed. The University of Arizona Adaptive Athletics Program houses six globally competitive teams as well as an adaptive fitness center. We believe in the power of sport to provide a crucial inroad to higher education and community that keeps students connected and engaged through graduation. Disabled individuals constitute approximately 19 percent of the U.S. population. Only 16.4 percent of disabled individuals graduate with a college degree, and only 17.8 percent of disabled individuals engage in sports or physical activity.
Disability is an aspect of diversity, integral to our society and the University of Arizona community. We are proud that many players from our program have gone on to become working professionals in a variety of fields including pharmacy, research and education. We are a powerhouse in wheelchair sports, and all funds received go directly to our athletes.
