Role: Access Consultant

Hometown: Grand Rapids, Minnesota

Interests: Sav (they/them) is an Access Consultant currently working with upper-division students across a variety of colleges. At the DRC Sav also works with the Study Abroad office to oversee accommodations for students abroad, and with Survivor Support Services to meet with students to determine accommodations they may need during their time at the University.
 
They are the current co-lead for the Disability Staff and Faculty affinity group on campus, and work with the Disability Studies Initiative to highlight academic work on campus in Disability Studies and to increase student interest in these courses and opportunities.
 
Sav received their Ph.D. in Gender and Women's Studies, with a minor in Critical Disability Studies from the University of Arizona. 
 
In their free-time Sav enjoys gardening, spending time with their dog Cassie, going on community bike rides, attending art shows, writing at coffee shops, and spending time hiking on all the great trails Tucson and Arizona have to offer.
