Graduation - Disability Access for Students and Guests

The university is committed to creating an inclusive and universal experience for commencement and convocation ceremonies. Please review the information below for disability-access information in addition to the Commencement's Parking and Access information. 

Wheelchair Rentals

  • Contact Mobility Plus  at (520) 225-0415 or view their mobility device rental page for wheelchair/mobility device rental options. 
  • Mobility devices, including wheelchairs, are not available for loan from UArizona. 
  • Designated spaces for storing mobility devices during ceremonies is not available and it is strongly recommended that you do not leave your mobility devices unattended.

Commencement Ceremony – Arizona Stadium 

ASL Interpreting and Real-Time Captioning

  • Real-time Captioning is provided via Arizona Stadium video displays and via Streamtext for mobile devices.
  • ASL Interpreters will be located close on the stage for graduates. For guests, ASL Interpreters will be located in section 28 in the northwest corner of the Stadium, in addition to Arizona Stadium video displays.

Seating and elevator locations

ALL seating for ceremonies, including disabled seating, is general admission (no seat reservations). Plan to arrive early for best seating options for all events. 

  • Accessible seating is available in the Arizona Stadium with wheelchair access and seats with fewer stairs.
    • Use Gate 4 for the following locations:
      • East lower concourse (field level), no elevator necessary.
      • East concourse and Main (North) concourse areas, elevator available.
      • Dunlap Stadium Club (East concourse), with shaded seating, elevator available.
    • Use Gate 6 for the following:
      • South Endzone seating, no elevator necessary.
  • Note:
    • Wheelchair accessible seating is not available on the West side of Arizona Stadium (Gate 7).
    • Due to limited capacity, wheelchair users may have one companion/guest accompany them.
      • If you are part of a large group and you arrive early, you may be able to get seats close by the edges of the designated wheelchair seating areas.

Arizona Stadium Parking 

Parking

  • Cherry Ave Garage 
    • Located north of the Arizona Stadium. 
    • The first two floors of the garage are reserved for disability parking which requires a disability placard/license plate. 
    • Access Gate 4 of Arizona Stadium by exiting through the southwest corner of the garage. 
    • No shuttle available.
  • Stadium Garage 
    • Located south of Arizona Stadium, across 6th Street.
    • No shuttle available.
  • Shuttle to and from the Arizona Stadium is available for the following garages:

Drop-off Locations

  • Designated drop-off locations are:
    • Highland Avenue, north of 6th Street and west of the stadium.
    • Cherry Avenue, north of Arizona Stadium at UA Mall.

Service Animals on Campus

Service animals are permitted in Arizona Stadium. If an animal is not trained to perform specific tasks related to a disability and only provides comfort or emotional support, it will not be permitted.

Contact your convocation or celebration coordinator to request ASL Interpreting or Captioning services or to inquire about parking options.
