Janie brings more than 15 years of experience in counseling and student support across K–12 and higher education settings. A first-generation college student, she earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is bilingual in English and Spanish. Her experience as a school counselor strengthened her commitment to helping students navigate barriers, recognize their strengths, and connect with resources that support their learning.

Interests: Janie has longstanding ties to Tucson and considers both Texas and Tucson home. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, crocheting, hiking, and the occasional 5K.
