Students who periodically experience absences related to a disability may seek an accommodation from DRC. All requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and in consultation with the course instructor.
DRC staff will consider the following to determine how class attendance relates to the educational experience for the course:
- Course policy regarding attendance
- Possible exceptions to the policy for extenuating circumstances, such as athletics or religious observation.
- Levels of interactions required in the class. Student contribution/participation requirements for the learning process.
- Student attendance is connected to a collaborative learning environment.
