Disability Access Statements

General event access statement 

When marketing an event (online or print) include an opportunity for individuals to reach out to you.  An example statement to include is: 

With questions about access or to request any disability-related accommodations in this {insert text: workshop, training, seminar} such as ASL interpreting, closed-captioning, wheelchair access, or electronic text, etc., please contact {Event Planner's name and email or phone number}.

Hybrid/Virtual Events with RSVP options: 

An example statement to include for hybrid or virtual event is:

Online content access statement: 

Always work towards posting accessible content. However, there are times when we need to post complex digital content such as a PDFs, PDF forms, data tables, etc. If you need to post complex digital content, provide an opportunity for users to contact you for alternate versions. An example statement to include is: 

To request an alternate format of this content for disability-related access, please contact {Content Owner's name and email or phone number}.

Recorded content, captioning request statement: 

Always try to post content that includes captions and follows UArizona's captioning guidelines. When posting uncaptioned content is necessary, make sure that it is not public and provide a method for individuals to contact you to request captions. An example statement to include is: 

To request a transcript or a captioned version of this content as a disability-related accommodation, please contact {Content Owner's name and email or phone number}.

The University is committed to full access to all its programs and activities.
